ABOUT THE AUTHOR
JEFFREY A. PETERS
Since 1997, this author has been an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.
The author has been a Christian counselor since 1998, eventually becoming a certified Christian counselor through the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counselors. He has been greatly influenced by the teaching of Dr. Jack Graham of Prestonwood Baptist Church, Dr. Tony Evans, of The Urban Alternative, Neal Anderson of Freedom in Christ Ministries, and Barry Wood of Barry Wood Ministries. He has taught spiritual warfare on seven continents, was a founding board member of Cross Trainers Discipleship Ministries, and Mission Market Place Ministries in Dallas Texas. In 1997 he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. For 42 years one significant truth had eluded him. Jesus Christ died for him!!! His world was rocked forever.
In 1997, in an effort to find solutions for what appeared to be spiritual attacks against his own family, the author stepped way out of his own comfort zone and started on a journey to seek an understanding of spiritual warfare. Within a year, he and his family had broken the chains that bound them and had realized that the war for them had just begun. As God lead him from one Godly teaching to another, through various ministries and individuals, his knowledge of spiritual warfare grew until God started to lead others to seek his counsel for their own spiritual issues. By the end of 1998 while still running his construction company full time, he was sitting with four or five people a week, doing battle against the forces of darkness that had ensnared them and by God's mercy, setting the captives free. Spiritual warfare is not the kind of ministry a person chooses to pursue. It is an act of obedience to a God, who died for you, who blesses you with freedom and understanding, and who calls you to defend His children. The author did not ask God to provide him a counseling ministry. Since 1998 God has brought a steady stream of pastors, missionaries, and common saints to his door step to find freedom and loose the chains that were binding them. God has provided the opportunity for him to teach and train well over a thousand people on spiritual warfare and has prompted him to write this book to expand that influence.
